“I wanted the panels to be vibrant and immediate, using bold, energetic mark making to build the layers of paint and bring intensity to the images. Later, I developed these ideas in four large canvases in which I have explored how scale can transform the emotional impact of an image, the large works becoming intimate and the small panels epic.”
