Speaking from his studio in Northern France, artist John Monks talks about his relationship with the paintings he works on and his process of painting. He looks at an older work entitled 'Landing' that he has worked on for a number of years and discusses the way it has developed and the notion that at time a work has to reach a moment of 'crisis' to instill a certain energy and life into the completed work.
