Adrian Wiszniewski b. 1958, Glasgow. Studied Architecture at the Mackintosh

School of Architecture before completing his studies at the Glasgow School of Art

where he received the Cargill Scholarship. Wiszniewski instantly shot to prominence

in the mid 1980s as a force in British painting. Since then he has worked in several

mediums including printmaking, sculpture, neon and design (winning the I.C.C.F.

Best Design Award, New York in 1993) and has been awarded several important

public commissions including paintings for Liverpools Anglican Cathedral.

His trilogy of plays; ‘G.B.H’., ‘La Befana’ and ‘Stone’ have been performed to

critical acclaim. Wiszniewski has had solo exhibitions in Australia, Japan and Europe

and his work can be found in many public collections including The Museum of

Modern Art, New York, The Tate Gallery, London and Setagaya Museum in Tokyo.
